Many things are changing when it comes to air travel. Some of the changes come from the government. We all know about the carry on luggage rules that have changed frequently over the past few months. The next big scheduled change will be a change in the passport requirements to re-enter the United States.

At the moment, if you are traveling to Mexico, Canada, Bermuda, Panama or the Caribbean, a passport is not necessary. But that will be changing soon. Due to The Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004, on January 8, 2007, all travelers coming from or returning from these destinations will need a passport to enter the United States.

This January 8, 2007 date is for travelers entering the United States by air or by sea. For travelers entering the United States across a land border, they will be required to start providing passports as identification on January 1, 2008. All of the new regulations are required for adults and children alike.

Currently, the regulation states that any traveler wishing to enter or re-enter the United States from these destinations needs to have a valid driver's license and a birth certificate. Those documents will not be enough once January hits. They will still be accepted if you are returning from a U.S. territory such as Guam, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands. Since they are U.S. territories, it is not considered leaving the United States when you visit there.

If you are planning to travel outside of the United States or its territories after the New Year and don't have a passport, now is the time to be applying for one. The average time for processing a passport is six weeks. The busy time for passport applications tends to be between January and July. You are likely to get your passport more quickly if you give in your application between August and December. So now is the time to do make your application. If you need your passport more quickly, there is an expedited service for an extra fee.

You may be wondering about the fees associated with a passport in general. Actually, they aren't so bad when you think about it. A passport is good for ten years, so when you divide the cost of the passport by the number of years it is valid, you're getting a pretty good bang for your buck. Much better than say the $50 or so you probably have to pay every year to register a car in most states - even if none of your personal information changes. So when you're thinking about the passport fees, try to put them in perspective. You get ten years of world wide travel as an American Citizen. It's not so bad when you think of it that way.

So, what are the fees exactly? For children under sixteen, a passport will cost $82. For those sixteen and older, a passport will cost $97. To get a passport renewed, the fees are $67. So for an adult with his first passport, the cost ends up being $9.70 a year. Pretty cost effective, huh? Of course, those fees don't include the price paid for getting your passport photo or for the added fees if you want your application expedited.

If you have never applied for a passport before, there are some things you will want to know before applying.

• You must apply in person. There are over 7,000 facilities in the United States that can issue passports. To find the one that is near you, you can go to www.iafdb.travel.state.gov and type in your zip code. The website will direct you to the facilities that are nearest to you.

• You will need proof that you are a United States citizen or proof of your nationality. For U.S. citizens born in the U.S. you will need a certified copy of your birth certificate issued by a government office (not a hospital). For U.S. citizens born outside the U.S., you will need a Certificate of Naturalization or Citizenship. An expired U.S. passport can also be used as proof.

• Have your passport photos taken before applying. The type of photographs you need are very specific, but that is to ensure that no one else can use your passport. You must have two identical photographs that have been taken within the last six months. The size of the photographs must be 2x2 inches. Your picture within the photo must be between 1 and 1 3/8 inches. The photo must be on a white background. You must be facing forward, showing your full face and not wearing a hat or dark glasses.

• You will need a photo ID with your signature. This can be an expired U.S. passport, a Certificate of Naturalization or Citizenship, a valid government ID card, a valid military ID card, or a valid driver's license.

• Once you have all of your documents and photos in order, you can fill out an application for a passport known as a DS-11. Do not sign the application unless you are in the presence of the person who will be executing your passport. If you do sign it without the executor, your application will become invalid.

• You can download an application and have it filled out before you visit the facility that will issue your passport. To download the application, go to www.travel.state.gov/passport/forms/forms847.html.

If you already have a passport, but it has expired you can renew your passport by mail if you meet the following requirements.

• Your passport must not be damaged.
• It must have been received within the past 15 years.
• You must have been at least 16 years old when it was issued.
• You still have the same name as the one in the passport (or a legal document proving your name change).

If you do not meet the above requirements, you must apply in person for a new passport.

Tias, another of the islands seven municipalities, includes the islands main holiday resort of Puerto Del Carmen and boasts a succession of beaches, along its 6km of southern coastline, separated only by short rocky elements. In this article, we review seven of the best beaches in this area of the island.

Our first of three man-made (and thus family-friendly) beaches in the Peurto del Carmen area is known as the Playa Grande. This is the most central beach and has a magnificent promenade of bars and restaurants running along its kilometre of golden sand (100m wide). The placid waters is this part of the island make it ideal for windsurfing. If you dont want to use the bars and restaurants, it wont be long before a beach seller offers you drinks, ices or fresh fruit. One of the most popular beaches on the island, it has lifeguards, showers, changing areas, washrooms, rentals for beds/parasols, boats and water sports equipment. You can get to it by guaguas (autobus) but youve been warned parking is very limited in this lively part of the island.

Our second beach is known as Barrilla (also in the Puerto Del Carmen area), measuring 90m long and 22m wide. It consists of fine golden sand and offers good parking, a scuba diving centre, has a lifeguard present, has first aid on site and is accessible by guaguas (autobus)..

Our third beach is a small cove known as Fariones (also in the Puerto Del Carmen area besides a hotel of the same name), measuring 60 m by 5m and consisting of fine toasted sand and calm waters. It is accessible by guaguas (autobus).

Our fourth beach at Playa de Los Pocillos, is located at the more exclusive end of Puerto Del Carmen. The beach has fine golden sand and forms part of the development known by same name. It is more than a kilometre long (1,23 m) and 150 m. wide. High tide leaves pools of sea water on its flat surface. It is quieter than the main beaches, but there is a still a good choice of quality bars and restaurants on hand. When the wind picks up this beach is popular with windsurfers.Windy on occasions, but with calm waters, it is very popular and offers good wind surfing conditions, it has rentals beds/parasols, good parking facilities, signage, boardwalk, a commercial zone, showers, litter bins, has good access for wheelchairs and has first aid and washrooms on hand. You can get to it by guaguas (autobus).

Our fifth beach at Playa de Matagorda, part of the development by the same name has a windy beach measuring 850m and 40m wide, consisting of fine golden sand and calm waters, which make it a popular resort for windsurfing, particularly those of limited capability or beginners. Due to its proximity to the airport and the occasionsl noise from aircraft taking off and landing, it is not as crowded as the other beaches in this area, but it is nevertheless worth a visit. This beach has rentals for beds/parasols and a variety of water sports on hand. You can get to it by guaguas (autobus).

Our sixth beach is at Lima and measures 900m long and 50m wide, consisting of fine toasted sand (mix of fine golden sand and small picon, the small lava stones), this is a windy beach with calm waters, again ideal for first time windsurfers. This is located alongside the Matagorda development and can be reached by guaguas (autobus).

Finally, our seventh beach is a small cove at Pea Grande and measures 40m long by 5m wide, consisting of fine white sand (and the odd pebble). Despite its small size, it is nevertheless a windy beach with calm waters and offers full services including lifeguards, showers, first aid, bars/restaurants, showers, parking and telephones. It also has a small promenade and can be reached by guaguas (autobus).

South Africa

Botswana

Botswana has too many highlights to mention in this short summary but for those with a bit of an adventurous spirit and a love of dangerous game, then it's the place to go. Moremi Game reserve in the eastern Okavango Delta is a must visit for lovers of big cats such as lions, cheetahs and leopards. Throw in the Central Kalahari and Chobe National Parks and Botswana enscapulates what Africa, in a traditional sense, is all about. A variety of tours are available, again, ranging from several hundred to several thousand dollars but in all honesty, to get a greater appreciation of Botswana, then an extended stay should seriously be considered.

These are just four African Safari destinations and probably the best known. If you are considering just one visit to this magnificent continent then make it a worthwhile one time wise. Tours don't just concentrate in one country. For extended stays, consider encompassing at least the quartet of destinations we've covered in this article.

If anyplace on earth is a natural paradise, Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia is that place. Of all Croatia's eight National Parks, Plitvice is the oldest and most visited. It's easy to see why. Bears and wolves lurk in its primeval forest; schools of silvery fish dart through its pristine rivers; its beech trees are a cacophony of chattering birds. The crown jewels are the 16 translucent lakes connected to each other by a breathtaking series of cascades. Dazzling as the Plitvice national park appeared on a recent visit, I couldnt help recalling that this exceptional site was a war zone during the breakup of former Yugoslavia.

Located near Croatias then- disputed border with Bosnia-Hercegovina, the parks troubles began in 1991 when the Yugoslav army seized the park and turned it into an army barracks. The Croatian army forced them out in 1995 but, a year later, the effects of war were everywhere. The area surrounding the park was a nightmarish landscape of bombed out houses and abandoned farms. The parks three hotels were shot to pieces and part of the lake system was closed while specialists removed mines from the falls and forests.

Shaking off the aura of gloom, I set out to tour the park that UNESCO had named a world heritage site. Even with only half the park open, I was soon entranced.

Miles of wooden walkways wound over, under and alongside the falls. From merry two-foot bubblers to long walls laced with foam, the falling water was everywhere. I resolved to return one day when the park had been rebuilt.

It happened that my grand return to Plitvice occurred this year at the end of a long, hard winter in central Croatia. Although I had visions of tranquil lakes shimmering under a blue sky the weather turned out to be cold, foggy and damp. But damp is good in Plitvice. Between the melting winter snow and days of rain, much of the park was a roaring mass of water. Water pounded into swollen lakes, flooded out the walkways and splashed through the trees. It was splendid.

Even better was the lack of other visitors. In the intervening nine years, Plitvice Lakes National Park has become Croatias busiest tourist attraction welcoming some 750,000 tourists a year. Nearly all come in July and August. Please tell people to come in spring and autumn, if they can my guide begged me. The newly renovated hotels are now completely booked up in the summer and the walkways are elbow to elbow with camera clickers.

Although missing the summer greenery, I quickly grew to appreciate the bare trees that allowed an unobstructed view of the lakes and falls. It was clear that the lake system is divided into four lower and twelve upper lakes. Just past the main entrance, the Korana River drops a torrent of water 258 feet into a frothing pool that begins the lower lakes. Lying at the bottom of a canyon, the narrow lower lakes are bordered by steep limestone walls and climb like a giant staircase to the upper lakes. Wider and surrounded by dense forest, the upper lakes lie on a bed of dolomite. At the very top, the White and Black rivers are the spigots that water the park. The high mineral content of the lakes explains their extraordinary colors, which range from day-glow green to deep azure.

Examining the crystalline water of the top lake, I noticed that the leaves and branches settled on the bottom were acquiring a metallic coating. It was the travertine process in action. The water absorbs minerals from the dolomite underlying the upper lakes and coats the plant life, turning it to porous travertine stone. The new travertine sprouts moss and plants that again petrify and the process repeats itself. All the barriers separating the upper lakes are composed of travertine constantly growing and changing shape.

If you go to Plitvice, you dont need to stay long enough to turn to travertine but the park merits more time than it usually gets. Lying about 85 miles north of Zadar and south of Zagreb, many people rush through the park on their way to or from the coast. Its possible to see a lot of waterfalls in three or four hours but youll need a number of days to fully explore the trails. The three-star Hotel Jezero is the best of the parks three hotels but there are plenty of small pensions and private rooms in the villages around the park.

7.Repeat Discounts. Every cruise liners like to retain their customers. So to entice repeat business, the line may most likely offer extra treats or special upgrades for your subsequent cruise.

In the past two parts of this report I told you about 7 TOP German Amusement Parks and Theme Parks, whose ensure you gain an unforgettable day (and a lot more).

So, with that having said, you also have to consider how much time you will have when you are in such Theme Parks. Imagine this, you would like to enjoy one more attraction, but you would have to queue up for approx. 120 minutes? Yeah, not unusual in those TOP German Amusement Parks!

Nevertheless, the fact that you have my advice and guidance, you will be able to prevent yourself from such annoying situations.

Question, would you like to save approx. 50% of your valuable time while being in such TOP German Amusement Parks and Theme Parks? Yes? Okay, then read on... ;-)

Step 1
The main visiting day is Sunday, followed by Saturday. If it is possible for you thus, visit the parks under the week, between Monday and Friday. You will otherwise be annoyed to have yourself queue up 1 or 2 hours long for only one ride. That can be pesky.

Step 2
Take your time for each park. I recommend taking one complete day, at huge parks perhaps even two days. You are annoyed otherwise to have missed important attractions. Even though our Amusement Parks aren't as big as Disney World in Paris or in Orlando, you should not put yourself in a rush.

Step 3
Journey on very early. Be there before they open their gates. Early in the morning the park is empty, and you gain a more pleasant and faster overview. And if you travel by car, it's common you find a parking lot quite close to the entrance. That saves some time as well.

Step 4
Inform yourself in advance, on my Website or on the Website of the park. Which attractions do you want to visit in any case? Note it, like a Park Route Guide. Process this plan first. If you then still have time, you still can go onto other attractions (or just repeat the most exciting ones!).

Step 5
Start at the end of the Theme Park. That way you avoid long waiting periods at individual attractions. Most visitors start their journey at the official starting point.

BONUS-Step
Plan your midday meal, therefore the attendance in the restaurant, very early or very late. Most visitors eat in the time between noon and 1 p.m. Go eating at 11 a.m. or at 2.30 p.m., thus you save up to 60 minutes of your valuable time.

Kids Ages

A 10-foot size trampoline is great for smaller kids if you are able to find an enclosure system that will fit it. But it is important to remember that your kids will grow up and you may need to upgrade to a larger trampoline as they grow.

Although, people of all sizes can use a ten-foot model, it is recommended that only one-person jump on it at a time. You should always follow the safety instructions of your trampoline to help prevent injuries and keep your family safe.

Keep a water bottle handy, get it refilled from time to time to always have water to drink at your convenience.

Wear eye shades and ear plugs to rest more peacefully.

Wear a comfortable light jumper or cardigan to keep warm, cabin temperature is usually set at 22 to 24 degrees Celsius (72 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit).

Apply a lot of moisturizer on the skin, especially on the face and hands to avoid dryness of the skin.

Use lip balm to keep the lips moisturized.

If you are wearing makeup, do not remove it before rest. It keeps the skin from losing moisture in the flight.

Walk around constantly whenever possible to improve blood circulation. This will avoid DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis).

These homes may be advertised by the individual owner, or by companies who manage multiple rental properties.

However, these sites have their limitations. You will rarely find any information about each destination, since these sites typically cover the globe, albeit with varying levels of inventory available in any one resort or location. Also, the site is really nothing but an advertising venue; it takes no responsibility for the accuracy of any of the information posted by the owners who use it, and you will have no comeback to the operator of the website if it turns out that the property is misrepresented, is not available when you turn up even though you have paid or, in the worst but by no means unknown case, does not even exist.

The second type of site is often advertised as by owner. These sites may be global, or they may be destination-specific. Such sites frequently claim that by dealing directly with owners they are cutting out the middleman and saving you money, and in certain areas owners who market their properties directly can escape some types of tax. However, these sites also have drawbacks. As with global vacation rental sites, by owner sites provide no guarantees about your holiday; they are just a way of putting you in touch with the owner. Furthermore, the owner is not worried about the credibility and reputation of the site as a whole; their main concern is to promote their own property. Finally, if the property becomes unavailable for any reason, the owner may be restricted in their ability to provide an alternative. So be cautious with these sites.

Some travel clubs will dock you a monthly fee, some will dock you a yearly renewal fee. Be careful of those who hit you hard upfront and then bleed your money slowly over time. Good travel clubs offer you a low, one time fee to get started and no further renewals or back end fee.

7.Variety of discount types

Does your travel club only offer 2 night 3 day trips? Or does it offer a lot more like unlimited week long condo stays, Unlimited discount cruises, ski discounts, dining discounts, or golf discounts? Make sure your travel club membership has many varieties of trips and vacation styles to fit all personality and travel types.

1.The Culture. They speak Spanish in Buenos Aires and the accent takes some getting used to. If you dont speak Spanish, you can still get by but you may encounter some difficulties with taxis, shopping, and menus. Most people related to tourism speak English. The people are mostly friendly and very conservative keeping old traditions alive. Argentines are hard working people and work a 9-hour day without a nap. Families are the core of the culture and every Sunday is dedicated to spending time with loved ones. Everyone is good looking, even the dogs.

2.Is it safe? Buenos Aires is safe compared to most cities of 13 million people. The most common crime is petty theft including purse snatching and pick pocketing. You will always want to be cautious of this. But the murder rate is incredibly low, the kidnappings of the past have subsided, and there are plenty of police on the main streets to keep an eye on things.

3.What is the environment like in the city? Buenos Aires is an extremely urban environment and the noise and activity is constant. The weather is mild all year round with a few weeks in February that swelter, and a few weeks in August that get chilly. Pollution does exist on weekdays and can cause breathing troubles and the throat to itch. The streets are narrow and walking can sometimes be precarious. The architecture is a treasure trove spanning the last century.

4.What is the political situation? At the moment, politics in Argentina are stable with President Kirchner at the helm for the last 3 years and leaning toward the left. Argentines are very vocal about how they feel and there are peaceful protests around the government buildings several times a week. Throughout the last 70 years, there have been dictators and democracy and a strong rally for socialism. Despite a strong distaste for President Bush, in general the people of Buenos Aires are open minded to foreigners and enjoy meeting them.

5.How is the economy doing? The economy in Buenos Aires is thriving with small businesses, global companies, huge fashion districts, endless restaurants, and a growth in tourism. The University Of Buenos Aires is excellent and keeps the work place progressive. After the devaluation in 2001, the country had some difficult years, but now unemployment and homeless statistics are low and dropping. Foreign investment is booming and creating jobs in almost every sector.

6.Where should I stay? Choices for accommodations are staggering and each neighborhood will offer a different experience. You should rent an apartment if you are planning on staying a week or more. You should try to find lodging in a central part of the city keeping transportation costs low. Recoleta is surely the best neighborhood and very central. The Microcenter is the center of the city and most hotels and hostels are located here. Wherever you stay, make sure you are a few floors up from the street noise. It can be a serious annoyance for tourists and locals alike.

7.What should I pack? All you really need is your passport, something to help you sleep on the plane, and a camera with extra batteries. Everything else is available here at bargain prices. Laptops are accepted but cyber cafes are everywhere. Anything that cant fit in 2 suitcases may be taxed heavily at the airport. Make sure to leave plenty of room in your luggage for souvenirs. And dont forget to bring a pair of comfortable shoes.

8.What about money? Bring cash and exchange it at the airport. ATMs are plentiful but have a $300 USD limit. To exchange money in the city, go to the financial district and look for signs that say cambio and bring your passport and an address of where you are staying. Currently $1 USD is worth about 3 pesos, which is good news for the tourist. Very few places accept credit cards. Only restaurants, grocery stores, and banks will break a 100peso bill. So always carry change with you. Always!

9.Transportation. Getting around Buenos Aires for a tourist will consist of 3 methods. Subways are cheap, safe, and only crowded at rush hour. (9am and 7pm). Taxis are also inexpensive but you may be taken on the scenic route if you speak English. Always have the necessary address written down so you can hand it to the driver. And finally, walking is the best way to see the city so make sure you carry a map. For locals, the bus system is the best transportation because there are so many. If you are brave, remember when you get on a bus, always tell the driver ochenta.

10.What happens after I get off the plane? When you arrive at the Buenos Aires International Airport (Ezeiza), you will first go through immigration. Before you get in line, make sure you have filled out the visa they give you on the airplane. Hand the visa and passport to the official for stamping. After that, go to baggage claim and collect your things. When you enter the terminal, go around to the right, all the way to the back to where a blue sign says Banco. Stand in this line to exchange your money for the best rate in the airport. Next, go to the center of the terminal where an indoor white taxi stand is. Tell them Capital Federal and have an address where you are staying. The cost is about 54 pesos and you will be escorted to a white taxi that will safely take you to your lodgings.

Other supplies include matches (also in a water-tight container), a fire starter, sunglass and sunscreen (to protect your eyes and skin respectively), a method of water treatment (like a water filter, for example), a food storage device (for places where bears are common, a bear canister is an absolute must) and a whistle.

The whistle can be used in situations where you get stuck and wish to call out to somebody for help. The whistle will almost always last a lot longer than your vocal cords will.

Fifty-eight species of mammal and more than 400 plant species share the desert and dry savannah, while approx. 260 species of bird, including at least 20 species of large raptor share the sky.

Richtersveld National Park:

Southern Africa's largest mountain desert park, the Richtersveld is 160 000ha of lava mountains and sandy plains situated in the north-western crook of the Orange River. It is also one of the world's most precious and fragile eco-systems. Its strange rock formations shaped and sculpted by the wind and sun, is a land for those keen to 'rough it'. Visitors can explore the area from the comfort of a 4x4 or by paddling long stretches of the river.

Green Kalahari:

Dominating this region are the lush vineyards and the massive Orange River, which meanders through a giant valley. The Kalahari Gemsbok National Park and the Augrabies Falls National Park - with its famous Black Rhino Aventure, are not to be missed.

If any place can credit itself as a linchpin city for development and unearthing talent, Seattle is one of those places. Seattle is the birthplace of bands like Nirvana and Pearl Jam (the founders of grunge rock), and bands like Death Cab for Cutie, Foo Fighters, Soundgarden and Alice in Chains. The crme de la crme obviously is Jimi Hendrix himself.

Other famous Seattleites and claims to fame are Bill Gates of the Microsoft empire, the TV sitcom Frasier, movie Sleepless in Seattle with Tom Hanks, movie 10 Things I Hate About You and TV series Greys Anatomy.

The Crocodile Caf is an institution for alternative music enthusiasts. Artists like Eddie Vedder, Death Cab for Cutie, Elliot Smith and K. T. Tunstall have played here, as a testament to its importance in the local music scene.

Flower stalls litter the streets as do fresh seafood stalls and vegetable stands. Contrary to popular flea market opinion, this market is clean, modern and atmospheric. PS. coffee lovers, Starbucks has its first original store right here! Bring your walking shoes.

But before you take them off, let those shoes take you through a tour of the Seattle Underground. After the Great Seattle Fire in 1889, the city raised the CBD building levels, leaving an underground city in developing Seattles wake. For a couple of hours, you can now walk amongst what used to be the heart of the city, but what is now a refurbished yet rotting, historic, subterranean ruin. Fascinating stuff.

Technically, there is a long list of great things to do that have been missed out here, so don't be afraid if you think that's it! It merely means the page isn't big enough to include it all. There are tonnes of musical and artistic things to see and visit, plus some great history that is worth a good look. Maybe you can also take a drive around to try and spot famous places of interest, since Seattle is idolized in so many movies and TV shows.

Belfast, again close to 500,00 is the capital of Northern Ireland. Both of these huge cities began as shipping ports, through the Irish Sea, way back around 488AD, so they are filled with the charm and character of an old town, while being able to offer you all the comforts of a bustling city.

There are many cultural villages strewn throughout the country that offer experience, culture and very wonderful foods!

With the mass transit system you and your family can easily reach any destination, or tour the town. The system itself is a thing to see and experience.

Ireland has the most beautiful beaches of anywhere, and Galway County on Galway Bay is a great place to enjoy some of the surf. Since Ireland is an island, there are a lot of sandy shores to see, but remember that the summer season is only from June to August, and then a light jacket might be necessary as you walk the shoreline. The waves, sun and the sand are enticing though, and the kids will just love to just go and have fun! So be certain to make at least one of your days in Ireland a beach day!

Then at the end of the day, what could be better than a fresh seafood dinner prepared specially for you, in any one of the many oceanside restaurants that line the coastal towns. You could drive from Dublin to Galway City in a matter of a couple of hours, and with the Atlantic ocean on the west side of Ireland, and the Irish Sea bordering the east side, you had better believe that the best in North Atlantic seafood is available for you!

The variety and charm of Ireland makes it the best get-a-way for your whole family, or just for two. Come and enjoy!
